When do I have to pay the monthly rent?

The rent must be credited to the account of the landlord or property manager no later than the 1st day of the month to which the rent applies.

To which bank account should I transfer the monthly rent?

The rental contract states to which IBAN account number and with which payment reference you must transfer the rent.

Pay your rent on time

Avoid additional costs by paying your rent on time. If you are unable to pay, contact your landlord or property manager as soon as possible to discuss a solution.

What should I do if I receive a reminder or notice?

First payment reminder

If the rent has not been paid (in full) on time, you will receive a payment reminder from the landlord or property manager. Please ensure that the outstanding amount is paid as soon as possible according to the instructions.

Second payment reminder (notice)

If payment is still not made, you will receive a formal notice in which the outstanding amount may be increased with interest or additional costs. Follow the instructions and pay the full amount as soon as possible.

If payment is still not made, the claim may be transferred to a collection agency and additional costs may apply.

What should I do if I receive a letter from a debt collection agency?

Transfer to a collection agency

If the rent remains unpaid after multiple reminders, the claim may be transferred to a collection agency. You will be notified and given another opportunity to pay the outstanding amount, including any interest and costs.

Legal action

If payment is still not made, the case may be passed on to a bailiff and further legal action may follow. All additional costs will be at your expense.

How is my rental price structured?

The rental contract includes a specification of the monthly costs. This shows the basic rent and any service costs (such as gas, water, electricity, and other charges).
